Ground Force: Sunday 8th April

Posted by Seb Duggan on

This year’s Ground Force working party will be this Sunday 8 April, starting at 10am, when we’ll be getting Ridge Meadow ready for the imminent (weather permitting) start of the season.

The more volunteers we can get helping, the quicker it will all be done, but it shouldn’t take more than a couple of hours at most.

Please come and lend a hand if you can!

Hambledon C win indoor division 5; Chris Pratt wins senior batting award

Posted by Seb Duggan on

Congratulations to Hambledon C, who won indoor league division 5 in their inaugural season.

The B team were unable to top their division again this year, but finished in second place to earn promotion, with Chris Pratt adding the senior batting award to his U16 trophy.

The A team had a mixed season, finishing fourth but retaining their place in the first division.

Taken together with the colts teams' achievements, it has been a very good indoor season: well done and thank you to all involved...

The ordering window for the Hambledon Cricket Club online kit shop (provided by Kukri) is now open.

There is currently a 20% discount for all members, the the shop will close on 7 January 2018.

Orders placed should be delivered by the start of the season. I can recommend the Hambledon beanie hat as a good choice for the early season...

If you have any queries, please contact Kevin Wingham, the kit coordinator.

Former Dons President Tony Baker

It is with great sadness that we note the passing of Tony Baker at the age of 77.

In addition to his performances on the field and his huge contributions to Hampshire cricket over the years, Tony was a source of wise counsel and support as Club President of Hambledon during the late 1980s.

The Southern Daily Echo has more details of his life and accomplishments.

Ridge Meadow work party: Sunday 24 September

Posted by Seb Duggan on

So another season has drawn to a close, and we’re left crossing days off the calendar until cricket returns to Ridge Meadow...

As always, there will be an end-of-season clear-up session at the Ridge, this Sunday 24 September, starting at 10am.

There are a bunch of jobs to be done — putting away tables and chairs, tidying away the rope and advertising boards, covering the scoreboard — but the more volunteers we have, the less time it will take! So please come along on Sunday to lend a hand, and we should be done by about 11.30... (Bring a pair of work/gardening gloves if you have them).
