Fantasy Cricket 2019 is now live!

Posted by Seb Duggan on

The Fantasy Cricket competition is up and running again for 2019!

Entry is £5 per team, but you can enter more than one team if you like; and there are prizes of £60, £30 and £15 for the top 3 teams.

We won’t be counting last week’s 1st XI match, as it was the only game on that day; but the competition will be in full swing from this weekend. So please get your entries in to Seb by 12 noon on Saturday 11 May, if you want them to be counted for the first full week of league matches.

As part of the UK leg of the Cricket World Cup 2019 – Trophy Tour, the CWC Trophy will pay a visit to historic Broadhalfpenny Down, the “Cradle of Cricket”, between 2 and 4 pm on Sunday 24th February 2019.

There will be an opportunity to have your photograph taken with the trophy, for your children to take part in some cricket activity with Hampshire Cricket Board coaches, and also to learn more about the history of the game and the important role that the men of Hambledon played in that development from the Hampshire CC historian Mr David Allen.

Coffee, tea and cake will be available in the pavilion and for those who wish for something a little stronger the Bat and Ball is open for lunch and refreshments throughout the afternoon too. Current weather forecast is for fine weather, so come along on Sunday!

2018 AGM: Thursday 29 November

Posted by Seb Duggan on

The Hambledon CC 2018 AGM takes place on Thursday 29 November at 7.30pm, at Hambledon village hall.

Please could all club members make every effort to attend.

There are various club officers to be elected/confirmed:

Tony Smith is stepping down from Treasurer after 10 years - many thanks to him for all the hard work he's put in over that period. Imogen Restell has volunteered to take over.

Thanks also to Zoe Mackenzie, who is passing on the baton of Membership Secretary to Liz Moger.

And Theresa Pratt will be taking over the position of Colts Manager from Liz.

All three senior team captains are up for election. Currently we have Spencer Le-Clercq standing for 1st XI captain, and Kevin Wingham for the 3rds. As usual, we have no-one putting their head over the parapet for the 2nd XI. Any nominations should be submitted to Seb or to Lecky before the AGM; we require a proposer and a seconder.
